One Response to “Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck”

  1. bachbooks Says:

Of Mice and Men tells the story of the friendship between two migrant workers in Depression-era California. George Milton and Lennie Smalls are two very different characters with one common dream: to own a farm of their own. Lennie, a large mentally-retarded man, needs George to take care of him and keep him out of trouble. As they work on a ranch to earn the down payment for their own farm, their dream inspires the other hired hands. Just when their hopes begin to soar, trouble strikes, and threatens to destroy their dream.

Of Mice and Men is an incredible display of John Steinbeck’s literary art. The book features vivid description, lively dialogue, and compelling characters. Although this novel is set in the Great Depression, it has become a timeless tale of friendship, hope, and the power of a dream. I highly recommend that people read this book and that they read it aloud to experience the magic of this incredible story.
