Summary: Civil War Curiosities is difficult to summarize because it is the collection of strange or even seemingly random stories. The stories include odd events and coincidences that occurred during the time of the Civil War. A variety of subjects are addressed such as uncommon ways women were involved in the war, jinxed horses, and a closer look at Abraham Lincoln, along with information and facts about the war itself.
Evaluation: The best part about the book is that it gives the reader a personal connection with the information being presented about the civil war. It’s not all about the number facts including places, dates, and names that are often considered boring. The stories are of the untold parts of the Civil War, the bizarre events people lived through, and unexpected coincidences that took place.
