One Response to “My Brother, Jamaica Kincaid”

  1. Noorulain S. Says:

Summary: This book is a memoir the author wrote about her brother Devon and how his being diagnosed with AIDS shaped their brother-sister relationship. When she finds out the medicine necessary to treat her brother’s illness is unavailable in Antigua, where he lives, she brings over the expensive medicine for her brother. Jamaica does all that she can to try and make up for all the time she was away from her brother and her family. In the end when Devon ends up dying, Jamaica learns the lesson that some people never change.

Evaluation: I think that this was a well written but sad story. It makes you really reflect on how close or far your family ties are.
